West Oʻahu high school- ers can apply for Kupu and Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation’s sixth annual Hawai‘i Youth Sustainability Challenge through Oct. 8.
If chosen, teens will re- ceive $1,000 for supplies and materials, as well as mentor and training sup- port.
The initiative hopes to em- power youth from across the islands to create solutions to conservation and sustainabil- ity issues in their schools and communities, to hear the or- ganizers tell it.
The projects must be stu- dent-run (with teacher as- sistance) and take place be- tween December and May.
