Hawai‘i Pacific Health Rolls Out ‘Vax Bus’ To Area High Schools
Hawaiʻi Pacific Health re- cently partnered with various state departments, including health and education officials, to bring its vaccine clinics to high schools across the island. The COVID-19 Vax Squad Bus made its first pit stop May 6 at Waipahu High School and has visited more than 10 schools since.
“We are extremely hopeful that we will be able to bring all our students back to cam- pus next school year, and vac- cinating as many people as we can will help us achieve that goal,” states Waipahu High principal Keith Ha- yashi. “Our students are real- ly excited for this opportuni- ty, not only to get vaccinated
but also because some of our own students and alumni are giving the vaccines.”
Students who are enrolled in the HPH Medical Assistant Program, along with those who have already graduated from the course, had the op- portunity to gain real-world experience through this ven-
