Kaiser Permanente Hawaiʻi recently recognized West Oʻa- hu Medical Office at Kapo- lei’s physician chief Dr. Mar- cus Iwane with the national David Lawrence Community Service Award, which honors an employee in each of Kaiser Permanente’s eight regions for their volunteer efforts.

Iwane is also part of the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander COVID-19 Response, Recovery and Re- silience Team.
“I’m delighted to see Dr. Iwane recognized with this national award for his dedica- tion to improving the health of the people of Hawaiʻi,” states Dr. John Yang, president and medical director of Hawaiʻi Permanente Medical Group. “We’re inspired by his vi- sion for health equity in West Oʻahu, and his commitment to encouraging more Native Hawaiians and Pacific Is- landers to pursue careers in health care.”
