“I’ve been so lucky to work with everyone here at this school with so much sup- port,” states Oskey. “Every- thing that we’ve done, it’s all been as a team. This definite- ly isn’t just for me.”

Waipi‘o Teacher Jenna Oskey Receives Statewide Accolade
Kanoelani Elementary School special education teacher Jenna Oskey got a thrilling surprise April 14 when she received honors as the state’s winner of the es- teemed Teacher of Promise Award from the Milken Edu- cators of Hawai‘i.
states principal Stacie Kuni- hisa. “She has demonstrated a desire to navigate her vet- eran colleagues through this pandemic and model what any great leader should.”
Each year, the honor recog- nizes outstanding and up-and- coming classroom educators who exhibit great potential within their first six class- room semesters.
Oskey was lauded for her passion and commitment to her students and colleagues, along with her ability to ef- fectively adapt and thrive in new or challenging situ- ations. The Waipi‘o educa- tor included her fellow staff members in her acceptance remarks.
