Waipi‘o’s United MMA Hawai‘i Teases That Classes May Return In The Summer

niques along with their kids and work on them at home. “It’s a really great bond-
ing activity,” adds Jewelz. The couple met while participating in martial arts, and knew they wanted their kids to take part in the

very active and athletic people,” says Jewelz. “We wanted to make sure that our children knew how to protect and defend them- selves and each other.”
It’s no surprise, then, that their children — Ange- la, Christian, Victoria and Adrian — stay fit as well.
“Luckily our pro athletes have still been able to com- pete and provide for their families,” Jewelz says.
Angela (Lee Pucci) is a five-time atomweight champ and inaugural champ for ONE, while brother Christian has a ONE light- weight world championship title under his belt. Vic- toria, 16, recently joined her older siblings at ONE, making her the youngest to be signed by a professional world-level athletic orga- nization. And, adds Jew- elz, Victoria won her pro debut back in February by second-round submission. Adrian, meanwhile, who turned 15 in March, was supposed to fly to Florida for a national competition but opted to stay closer to home to help Christian train for his upcoming title defense — a big respon- sibility as his big brother prepares to fight Russia’s Timofey Nastyukhin April 14 on TNT.
It’s evident that family is everything to the Lees, which is why the name of their facility invokes a sense of community and to- getherness.
However, even coronavirus restrictions in place, that doesn’t mean Jewelz and Ken haven’t kept occupied as of late. In fact, they’re about to get a whole lot busier.
“We have two grandba- bies on the way scheduled to be born five days apart,” shares Jewelz, who adds that both are expected this month.
