UHWO’s Creative Media Facility Is Ready For Students
University of Hawaiʻi– West Oʻahu’s highly antici- pated Creative Media facility is ready for students when they return to campus.

The 33,000-square-foot building was created to meet the demands from one of the Kapolei college’s fast- est-growing degree programs: Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media.
“It allows students to gain hands-on experiences that books cannot duplicate in an environment that promotes not only learning but explo- ration,” states Academy for Creative Media director Shar- la Hanaoka. “This leads to the growth of confidence through experimentation with com- plex equipment.”
Area students from Waiʻanae, Kapolei, Camp- bell and Waipahu high schools will also get a chance to utilize the facility thorough an early college program, made possible from The Academy for Cre- ative Media System and UH community colleges, which gives them the opportunity to work toward a college de- gree.
“This brand-new ACM facility is the culmination of years of efforts to bring the best possible creative me- dia education to the state of Hawaiʻi and gives our stu- dents the skills they need to help diversify our economy,” states Creative Media System founder and director Chris Lee.
