Take the 3/8-inch strips of cardstock color No. 2 and tape down the center front of the gown, from the top of the collar to the bottom edge.
This completes the look of the grad gown.
Lift the front of the gown up. Line up the 2 1/2-inch by 4-inch cardstock with the sleeve layer, keeping the notched end at the top. Tape in place.
This creates the pocket for the gift card. The half circle notch makes it easy to slide the gift card in and out.
Add an adhesive back Velcro dot to help it stay closed.

    Take the 1-inch circle punch and punch half a circle in the center along one of the 4-inch edges of the 2 1/2-by 4-inch cardstock.

NOTE: The origami folding for this project is the same as for the Happi coat/haori kimono project sheet. Folding with cardstock is a bit harder. A paper creaser helps with the fold creases.

details. Tape the face to the top of the collar. Cut out second hair piece and tape on the back side.
   Create a tassel using embroidery floss and adhere to the top of the grad cap using a mini brad or dot. Piece the grad cap together and tape to the top of the hair. Cut out second cap to tape on the back side.
Roll the copy paper up and tie a ribbon around to hold. Tape the roll to one of the sleeves for the diploma.
Add mini lei or other embellishments. Slip gift card in pocket.
