Teens Named Youths Of The Year
Hawai‘i teens Arissa Kahaiali‘i (left) and Alia Fatty (right) were recognized by Kirk Douglas, director of youth development services of Boys & Girls Club of America, for its Youth of the Year competition. The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of their leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication
to live a healthy lifestyle. Kahaiali‘i received Hawai‘i State Youth of the Year, while Fatty was acknowledged as Hawai‘i Military Youth of the Year. They will serve as ambassadors for all teens in the state, received a $2,500 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and will advance to the regional competitions this summer.

Health Center All Smiles After Donation
Hawai‘i Dental Service Foundation recently presented a $500,000 check to Waimānalo Health Center at its new Kāne‘ohe dental clinic, Hale Ola ‘Akolu Luluku. The grant will allow the center
to serve more dental patients to meet the community’s growing needs with more dental operatories (dentist workstations) and other state-of-the-art equipment.
