Church ‘Embraces’ Kindness, Gives Back
New Hope Leeward recently donated $5,000 to longtime partner Help, Understanding & Group Support (HUGS). Additionally, New Hope assists the organization through volunteer projects such as HUGS Respite Nights and cleanups at its memorial garden at Sunset Ranch. Honolulu School Levels Up, Wins Event
Maryknoll School won the 2023 Hawai‘i LifeSmarts Competition — hosted by state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs’ Business Registration and Insurance Division and Hawai‘i Credit Union League — in early February. The event, which also featured Kalani and Waipahu High Schools, quizzed students on their knowledge of personal finance, health and safety, the environment, technology,
and consumer rights and responsibilities. Maryknoll School will now represent Hawai‘i at the National LifeSmarts Competition in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 27-30.
