Leftovers And Lentil

This is our go-to recipe at home for nights when Poet has baseball practice. It calls for minimal prep and can even be made in advance. I usually place all the ingredients into the pressure cooker before we head to practice so that dinner

and store them in airtight containers. Having freshly washed and cut fruits and produce on hand makes eating healthy much easier and more convenient. Feel free to get creative with this recipe and use whatever leftover vegeta- bles you have in your fridge, (e.g. cabbage, carrots, celery, onions and beans).

Comprehensive Environmental Response Liability and Compensation Act (CERCLA) Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Site Inspection (SI) at the Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG) Waiawa Gulch Unit Training and Equipment Site (UTES), Pearl City, Hawaii
The Army National Guard (ARNG) announces an Open House and Public Information meeting to explain and discuss the results of the CERCLA PFAS SI, which was conducted at the HIARNG UTES in the Pearl City Industrial Park. PFAS are manmade chemicals used in many industries to make things waterproof, non-stick, and stain resistant. The primary potential sources of Army PFAS releases are firefighting training areas where Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) was used to train firefighters to respond to petroleum fires. These chemicals are often described as “forever chemicals” because they do not breakdown over time and can build up in the environment and our bodies.

SI results detected PFAS compounds below respective Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) screening level (SLs) in soil, but above OSD SLs in groundwater. The ARNG will expand testing for PFAS in downgradient domestic drinking water wells.
