Gift Helps Rainbow Wāhine Reach ‘Goal’
The University of Hawai‘i women’s soccer team received its largest donation to date of $50,000 from Nan Chul “Patrick” Shin, founder of Hawai‘i general contractor Nan Inc., and friend of head coach Michele Nagamine. The gift will support several different areas of the Rainbow Wāhine program — from providing the team with healthy snacks and nutrition guidelines to making sure players are able to attend summer school, if required. Nagamine is also interested in starting a mentoring program that helps elementary school children prepare for college at an early age.
