18 MIDWEEK DECEMBER 28, 2022
1 This card will use a landscape orientation with the card fold on the top. Open the card
up and place it flat down with
the outside front facing up. Cut
a 2-by-5.5-inch scrap cardstock
and washi tape it to the bottom
to use as an alignment guide. Place the letter dies spelling “MAHALO” along the top of the guide. You will have to leave a space for the sec- ond “A.” Tape the letters down with removable washi tape.
5 On the card front, line
up the inside pieces for the “As” and the “O.” Glue on to the shaker bag to complete the word.
2 Run the card
through the die
cut machine.
Remove dies.
Position the
second “A” and
die cut again,
saving the inside of the “A.” Save the inside cutouts for another project.
4 Place the shaker bag inside of the card behind the cutout letters.
Tape the bag to card, placing washi or clear tape around the edges. Take the 4.25-by-5.5-inch cardstock for the inside liner and tape in place behind the shaker bag.

3 For the shaker, take the clear bag and trim down to 2.5 inch-
es. Fill the clear crystal
pack bag with sequins,
beads, confetti, etc.
Don’t put too much
and make sure the fillers can move around. Fold the top of the bag down about half an inch and tape to securely closed so the fillers don’t fall out.
7 Here’s another shaker option: Make a large shaker
bag and tape to the front of
the card. Cut out a frame with
a large opening from the
4.25-by-5.5-inch cardstock.
Position on top of the shaker bag and tape in place. Die cut the giant THANK YOU from cardstock. Place onto the front of the shaker card and glue in place.
