Aloha Petroleum donated $5,000 to The Salvation Army in support of the nonprofit organization’s back-to-school campaign. Scholarship Honors UH Mānoa Students
The Consulate General of Japan held an award presentation ceremony for the 2022 Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology) Japanese Studies (Nihongo Nihonbunka Kenshuu Ryuugakusei) Scholarship. This year, Liv Peralta and Kylie Higashionna of University of Hawai‘i
at Mānoa were two of the four students from the United States selected by the embassy and consulates
to receive this scholarship. Peralta and Higashionna will both be studying Japanese language and culture at Keio University in Tokyo from October 2022 to July 2023.
