Matthew Carnes is vessel manager at United Fishing Agency. He will act as liaison to Honolulu Fish Auction buyers and the more than 140 vessels the agency works with. He will also manage vessel placement at Pier 38. United Fishing Agency is the owner/operator of the state’s only fish auction.
Donna Wheeler returns to Castle Hospitality Group as director of marketing. In this position, she will oversee the company’s marketing efforts, ensuring proper branding, building company awareness and increasing revenue. She has previously served as Castle’s senior director of marketing from 2007 to 2010.
Eric Fujimoto has been named to Chaminade University’s board of regents. He is principal for Ho‘ea Wealth Advisory Group and a member of Ameriprise Financial Services. Fujimoto was named 2020 Small- Business Person of the Year for Honolulu by the U.S. Small Business Administration and Professional Advisor of the Year by Hawai‘i Community Foundation.

Lori Pereira has been promoted by Mid-Pacific Institute to assistant middle and high school principal for academics. She will oversee curriculum development, classroom technology integration and program growth. Pereira had been the assistant middle school principal and a math teacher at Mid-Pac.
Daniel Chastain is general manager of the burger restaurant The Counter in Kāhala. He will oversee day-to-day operations and staff. Chastain has nearly a decade of restaurant management experience. Prior to joining The Counter, he was floor manager for Café Americano at Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Rhonda Khabir has been promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing at Aqua-Aston Hospitality, which is a part of Marriott Vacations Worldwide. Prior to joining Aqua-Aston, she spent nine years at Great Wolf Resorts Inc., overseeing 18 resorts across North America. She is also a member of the O‘ahu Visitors Bureau board of directors.
