The Hālau of New Hope began around 1995. It was there I met Lei- lani Soon. A sweet, kind and shy young girl who loved to dance hula, ballet and sign. As she grew, she blossomed into a beautiful confident young lady. She dances in the community and church- es, always inspiring many. Leilani is one of the kindest, most caring people I know. During Easter, I came down with COVID, and Leilani dropped off a care package filledwithitemsthathelped me get through the worst part. It contained homeopathic drops that I am convinced
helped to shape me into the dancer and person that I am today.”
