Audiences can look forward to seeing Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Love and Thunder, which premiers July 8. Hemsworth has also completed two Netflflix fifilms: a sequel to the action thriller Extraction, and the sci-fi thriller Spiderhead. The latter movie also stars this actor whose movies include The Spectacular Now.
Released in theaters last week, Top Gun: Maverick is an action drama sequel starring Tom Cruise as test pilot Capt. Pete Mitchell. It follows the original movie Top Gun that came out 36 years ago. The new flick also features notables like Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell and this actor who once portrayed iconic rock singer Jim Morrison in The Doors.
Film director Bong Joon-ho has been filling out the cast for his next movie. The untitled sci-fi flick is an adaption of the Edward Ashton novel, Mickey7, and centers on a man who’s on an expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim. The character takes on risky jobs, and
when he dies, he regenerates as a clone. The film will feature Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo and this English actor known for his role in The Twilight Saga.
The Academy Award-winning film Dead Poets Society came out in theaters 33 years ago
this week. It starred the late Robin Williams as John Keating, an English teacher who, through literature, helped his students break out of their shells and pursue their dreams. In a touching final scene, one of his pupils proclaims this phrase, which derives from an 1865 Walt Whitman poem.
