After a bit of a hiatus, Nicolas Cage returns to the big screen with the action-comedy The Unbear- able Weight of Massive Talent, released April 22. Cage, who plays a fictionalized version of himself on the verge of fifinancial ruin, accepts the offffer of a million dollars to attend the birthday party
of a dangerous super-fan played by this Chilean-American actor who also stars as The Mandalorian.
Illumination and Universal have announced that the theatrical release of Super Mario Bros. has been pushed back to April 2023. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination founder Chris Meledandri will produce the film. The voice cast includes Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach and Charlie Day as Luigi. Mario will be played by this Jurassic World and Parks and Recreation alum.
Paramount+ just premiered three episodes of the 10-episode limited series The Offer: The Making of Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather. The series has Matthew Goode playing producer/actor Robert Evans, Giovanni Ribisi as mobster Joe Colombo, Patrick Gallo as Mario Puzo and this actor who also appeared in Good Luck Chuck, portraying Coppola.
Ten years ago today (May 4), The Avengers debuted, which set the trajectory for more than 20 Marvel Cinematic Universe films released in the decade to follow. The movie, which brought in a whopping $1.5 billion at the box office, centers around the iconic assemblage that comprises Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor and friends, as they attempt to hunt down Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, who stole this glowing, powerful energy cube.
