Through community events, social media, and support of family and friends, its efforts have garnered over $30,000, which will be donated to Mai- treya Institute, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organiza- tion that provides evacuation and resettlement aid to people affected by the current warfare in Ukraine.
Invasion of Peace was cre- ated as a volunteer-led organi- zation inspired by the words of his kumu Ramsay Taum: “If there is going to be an invasion, let it be one of peace. If there is to be a target today, let it be the hearts and spirits of those inspired by fear and anger.”
This event inspired the organization’s social media challenge, which encourages athletes across the world to dedicate their miles of exercise to #milesofpeace to help raise awareness and fundraise for Invasion of Peace’s mission.
