A Simple Action Saves Years Of Memories
Dear Darah,
I had lunch with a friend on President’s Day at Liliha Bakery in Inter- national Market Place. We had just placed flowers at the niche where my late husband’s ash- es were placed at Diamond Head Memorial Park.
band, which was in one of the binders. I am blessed to have these angels since some of the items were irreplaceable.

Dear Gene,
What a blessing Mr. Blanchard is! Jeff says, “I noticed someone had left a couple of binders on the parking kiosk and they looked like they were im- portant. I turned them in to lost and found because it was the right thing to do and if I had been in a similar sit- uation, I would be eternally grateful to someone who did the same for me. I’m happy for her and glad she got her items back.”
Dear Darah,

Angels in our lives come in many different forms, and one of those is nurses. Espe- cially with what has been go- ing on in the world recently, we know that they’re never really “off the clock.” Our community is thankful to this nurse angel for being a hu- manitarian and caring soul.
Is there someone you’d like to thank? Mail letters to MidWeek c/o Mahalo Nui at 500 Ala Moana Blvd. Ste. 7-500, Honolulu HI 96813, or email mahalonuiwithdar- ah@gmail.com. Include your name, where on the island you reside, phone number and, if possible, the phone number of the person you’ re thanking so she can contact him or her. Darah Dung hosts “The Pet Hui” and “Island Driver,” both on Spectrum OC16.
While eating lunch, I was showing him my friend binders with memorabilia of my late husband, Dale, that were placed on display during his memorial service last November. After taking my friend home, I noticed that the binders were not in my car. I went back to the restaurant and the staff said that nobody had turned in
When I got to the office, they stated that the binders were in the security office where I could go and sign out for them. This is a “ma- halo nui” to the staff and to the kind gentleman, Jeff, who brought the binders to the of- fice.
My nephew was really thankful that he got the help from this person. When I asked if he got the man’s name, he told me he was so shaken up that he didn’t. I’m hoping this person sees this so he knows how thankful my nephew and I are. Thank you so much for stopping to give
any binders. But on my way back to International Market Place, I received a call from Jeff Blanchard, who stated that he saw the binders on the parking kiosk and that he turned them into the parking office.
On Sunday, Feb. 20, my nephew had an accident in Hawai‘i Kai with his electric bike. He apparently hit a curb and fell off his bike. Accord- ing to him, he said a male driving by saw him on the ground and stopped to give him aid. He said the person was a nurse, so he helped bandage his toe, which was pretty messed up.

I called him later and he stated that he found my con- tact information on a copy of the obituary of my late hus-
