From Waimalu Elementary, two staff members were in- spired to create their own fold- ed book trees! Doreen Tabe thought it was a fun way to upcycle some books and give them new life. Her co-worker, Marissa Satsuma, ambitiously folded about 600 pages from a dictionary — wow! And, I think I need her to share how she made that special star.

Terri makes beauti- ful quilts, and it looks like her talent has passed down to her grandkids as well. This was a project that the students of Mililani Hongwanji partici- pated in. It was a wonderful way to share their great card- making skills with the kūpuna and staff.
