Model and skateboarder Evan Mock can add one more title to his résumé — actor — after scor- ing a main role in HBO Max’s Gossip Girl. The North Shore native gained a social media following after this Grammy Award-winning alternative R&B singer — who showed up at this year’s Met Gala with a robot baby — posted a video of him on Instagram.
Generating real Oscar buzz is Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage, a four-time Emmy Award winner. He acts and sings in the title role of the musical film Cyrano — as in de Bergerac — arriving Dec. 21. Dinklage’s Roxanne is this actress who appeared in Hillbilly Elegy.
Just in time for Halloween, I Know What You Did Last Summer — a reboot of the 1997 horror flick that starred real-life couple Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. — has its premiere Oct. 15 on Amazon Prime. Set in Hawai‘i, the series follows a group of teens as they deal with a dark secret a year after a fatal accident on graduation night. The cast is made up of mostly newcomers, but some seasoned names are running the show, including this kingpin director of the horror genre known for The Conjuring, Insidious and Saw franchise.
The crime thriller Law Abiding Citizen was released in theaters 12 years ago this week. It stars a frustrated man, played by Gerard Butler, who turns to vigilantism after one of his family’s killers is set free by a district attorney (Jamie Foxx) following a plea bargain. In the movie, Butler’s character delivers a line that’s similar to something Denzel Washington says in Training Day. Complete the line that begins, “It’s not what you know, it’s what you can ... ?”

 No, this isn’t a day dedicated to Mom, Dad, Grams or Gramps. Rather, it’s a chance to appreciate the distant past of once-living organisms. Believe it or not, fossils are everywhere, so take time to visit the nearest museum or national park and celebrate the clues to our earth’s history.
