Francis Ford Coppola won five Oscars before he was 36 and is now 82. His next film will be Megalopolis and he says he’s prepared to match outside financing on whatever he can’t raise for the $120 million budget. His last film, Twixt, made in 2011, was a horror film that earned only $1.3 million. It featured this actor who once played singer Jim Morrison in the movie The Doors.
Sad news for Sex and the City fans: Willie Garson, who played Carrie Bradshaw’s male confidant Stanford Blatch in the iconic ’90s show, died Sept. 21 from pancreatic cancer. Garson was set to star in the HBO Max revival And Just Like That ... alongside Sarah Jessica Parker (who plays Bradshaw), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) and this actress who ran for New York governor in 2018.
Speculation was high at the end of Saturday Night Live’s last season about which cast members would be sticking around. Last week, it was announced that Beck Bennett would be the only regular cast member not returning. Joining Kate McKinnon, Chris Redd and Kenan Thompson will be Chloe Fineman and this comedian who made waves portraying an
iceberg in a “Weekend Update” segment last season.
Eighteen years ago this week, Will Ferrell appeared as Buddy, the lovable human who be- lieves he’s one of Santa’s little helpers, in the festive and humorous movie Elf. Among the many notable moments in this film is the massive belch Buddy uncorks after downing a 2-liter bottle of Coca-Cola. The gassy occasion was actually performed by a voice-actor who’s known for his work on cartoons such as Animaniacs and Futurama. Who is this former stand-up comedian?

The U.S. hasn’t adopted the metric system (we’re still fans of legacy measurements like feet, miles and ounces) but there’s still much to love about this iconic day. Oct. 10 is the ideal date to recognize the focal figure of — 10/10, get it? — and 10 out of 10, will celebrate again!
