When CBS canceled Hawai‘i Five-0 in April 2020, after 10 years, it needed something to fill its local studios. Now there’s yet another NCIS spinoff, called NCIS Hawai‘i, which debuted Sept. 20. This
time, the team is led by a woman, played by the former Vanessa Minnillo — now known as Vanessa Lachey. It’s her married name, since she wed 98 Degrees musician Nick Lachey. The
show’s cast also includes this Canadian male model and actor.
One of Gen-Z’s many heartthrobs, Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson — a 27-year-old entertainer from Staten Island — hosted a comedy event with the former The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart in honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. On the list of performers were Bill Burr, Colin Jost, Michael Che, Jimmy Fallon, Wanda Sykes and this funny guy with a “big mouth” who recently announced he was going to be a first-time dad.
The haunting trailer for The Tragedy of Macbeth, a film directed by Joel Coen (his first project without brother Ethan) and starring Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand as Lord and Lady Macbeth, was released last week. Rounding out the cast for this adaptation of the Scottish play are Brendan Gleeson as King Duncan, Harry Melling as
Malcolm, Moses Ingram as Lady Macduff and this In The Heights actor as Macduff.
Twenty-one years after its release, Remember the Titans remains one of the best football films
produced. Starring Denzel Washington, the movie is based on the true story of a black head coach seeking to ease racial tensions at a newly integrated high school in Virginia. At the end of the film, one of the assistant coach’s daughters delivers the memorable line that goes, “Before we reach for hate, always, always, we remember the Titans.” Who plays the young girl?
