32 MIDWEEK AUGUST 11, 2021
An unnamed man in Xinghua, China, was hospitalized after he inserted a 20-cen- timeter-long eel into his anus on July 20 to ease his constipation, Global Times reported.
The Struggle Is ‘Eel’ To Cure Man’s Constipation
The “folk remedy” back- fired on him, however, when the eel slithered up into his colon and bit through it, en- tering his abdomen. Shock- ingly, the eel was still alive when it was surgically re- moved. The surgeon said the man could have died from bacteria in the large intestine migrating into the abdominal cavity.
Afterward, Elash apolo- gized, and Hoskins respond- ed, “I know. It’s all right. It’s a minor misdemeanor. Do you want to die over a minor misdemeanor?”
Australian Olympic kay- aker Jess Fox, 27, showed her MacGyver chops in Tokyo on July 27, using an Olympics-issued condom to repair her kayak before win- ning bronze and gold med- als in different events. CTV News reported that Fox used the condom to hold in place a carbon mixture that is ap- plied to the tip of the kayak.
On July 24, Baluchi washed ashore in Flagler County, Florida, inside a bubble-like vessel, which he hoped to use to run (sort of like a hamster in a wheel) up the East Coast. He told sheriff’s deputies that he had encountered “complica- tions” that brought him back to shore.

on Instagram. “It gives the carbon a smooth finish.”
Reza Baluchi of central Florida didn’t get very far in his effort to walk on water from St. Augustine to New York City, Fox News report- ed.
Stephan Elash, 24, of Campbell, Ohio, was pulled over by a state trooper on July 3 for speeding, WKBN-TV reported. In a panic, Elash put a baggie of marijuana in his mouth and tried to swallow it — but he choked. Trooper Charles Hoskins used the Heimlich maneuver to force the bag out of Elash’s throat, likely saving his life.
