let himself into the home of Mat and Monica Sabz in Bel Air, California, on June 20, Monica watched on Ring vid- eo and alerted her husband, who was at home. Kiyan was naked, KTLA-TV reported, and as he wandered around the house, he helped him- self to a shower and a pair of shorts. When Mat confront- ed him, Kiyan said the house was his. While he was there, Kiyan killed the couple’s two pet birds with his hands.
City Snafu
An entrepreneurial real es- tate buyer got more than he bargained for in Brooksville, Florida, when he bought a city building for $55,000 in
April. The building sits un- derneath the town’s water tower, and when Bobby Read went to the county to get an address for his new building, he discovered he had also
bought the large structure. The Associated Press re- ported that Read transferred the tower back to Brooksville through a warranty deed in
May.
City manager Mark Kutney said a bad legal description of the property was to blame for the snafu: “We’re human. Sometimes we make a mis- take.”

The appropriately named Kanisha Booze, 34, is an em- ployee at the Taco Bell. Po- lice said Booze had “blood- shot, watery eyes, a dazed and blank expression on her face and an odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath.”
The Wellington Correc- tional Center in New South Wales, Australia, is being evacuated so that crews can clear the prison of dead and decaying mice and repair chewed electrical wiring, Associated Press reported. Australia has been overrun with mice for months, which scientists say happens when rain follows several years of drought.
Corrective services commis- sioner Peter Severin said, “The mice have got into wall cavi- ties, into roof spaces. They’re dead, but then they start obvi- ously decaying and then the next problem is mites.”
