Dr. Pia Lorenzo has been named medical director of Kalākaua Gardens. She is board certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine, and is a certified medical director in long-term care. Lorenzo also is medical director of the Post-Acute Care Team at The Queen’s Medical Center’s Department of Geriatric Medicine.
Jongwook “Wookie” Kim has been named legal director of ACLU of Hawai‘i. He recently served as staff attorney. Previously, Kim was an associate at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP in Washington, D.C. While there, he also maintained an active pro bono practice. Kim is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School.
Ka‘ohinani Daniels has been appointed assistant to the president with Lili‘uokalani Trust. She will report to the president and CEO Dawn Harflinger, and advises on and coordinates organization-wide strategy, program design and implementation, legal research and innovation. Previously, Daniels worked for Mid-Pacific Institute.

Dr. Tuan Pham has been appointed dental director with The Queen’s Medical Center. In his new role, Pham is responsible for planning, implementation, coordination and management of the dental clinic. He has experience in various health care settings, including community health clinics on Hawai‘i Island.
Lila Marantz has been named to Forbes magazine’s 2021 Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list. Last year, she was also named to Working Mother magazine’s Top Wealth Advisor Moms list. Marantz is a financial adviser in Stifel Financial Corp.’s Honolulu office. She has been designing personalized wealth strategies for more than 30 years.
Matt Guard is director of USS Missouri Memorial Association’s board. He brings to the position years of experience in finance, sales, budgeting and management skills. Guard is president and general manager of McCabe Hamilton & Renny Co., overseeing more than 400 employees servicing maritime customers throughout the state.
