foundational lesson at Ho`okua`aina that sets
the tone for everything that takes place at
Kapalai. As the main staple of the Hawaiian
people, kalo (taro) was considered sacred. Hence, when working with or preparing kalo to be eaten, great respect must be given and demonstrated.

Eating Smart for your Kidneys
Starting Friday, April 30, 2021, 5 – 6:30 pm
Join a virtual multi-session interactive
workshop hosted by a Registered Dietitian
that will help you plan kidney-friendly eating.
Topics include kidney functions, causes of
chronic kidney disease, dietary impacts, and lifestyle changes to manage disease progression. This is open to adults living with chronic kidney disease, those at risk, families, and caregivers. All participants will be expected to complete activities and paperwork to get the most benefit. Space is limited, so register early to ensure your spot.
