“As a lifestyle boutique, we carry everything from clothing to home décor for the bohemian spirit,” says owner/designer Amerjit Ghag. “We source sus- tainable, handmade, small-batch and women-owned where possible, with a focus on a casual island bohemian vibe.”
Ghag was born in India and emigrated to California with her family at age 4, before moving to the Aloha State to work for Surf Line Hawai‘i. She studied design at University of California, Los Angeles, where she says she learned to
apply the discipline of design to her Punjabi background of color and pattern. She designs most of the textile products found at her stores, and sources furniture and home décor from Bali and India. There also are items by local creatives, such as macrame from Natalie Vergara of Over & Under, and jewelry by Kaimi Amaral of La Mer Bleu and Stephanie Hicks of Maris Pearl Co., plus work from some employees, including stickers by Nicole Van Diver of Coleebird Creates and jewelry by Kristi Van Diver of Mokki. The store also carries tabletop items from Caravan Home, greeting cards from Papaya and fresh small-batch spices from Spicewalla; as well as kits for indigo and leaf dyeing, island-inspired blocks for printing, and a variety of blank textile options, such as napkins, tea towels, scarves and more. Coming soon is macrame cord (made from post consumer textile waste
cotton) in a variety of sizes and colors.
The Kaka‘ako store, which is bigger than its Kailua location (at
131 Hekili St.), also features a back space dedicated to safe and fun workshops, which Ghag
says she hopes to ex- pand on but plans to start
with “bubble” groups of four. “I am hoping to share my pas- sion for textiles and textile tech- niques through workshops and DIY options,” she notes. “But my long-term goal is for the back space to become a collaborative space for
    creatives.”
