‘Aiea resident Ja- mie Kawamoto has been pro- moted to vice president of brand marketing at Hawai- ian Telcom. In her new role, Kawamoto’s responsibilities include brand strategy, re- tail marketing, sponsorships and brand activations, social media, and market research for Hawaiian Telcom and its parent company altafiber. She has been with the com- pany for the past decade and previously served as its ex- ecutive director of market- ing communications. “Jamie is driving the transformation of Hawaiian Telcom’s brand perception to match the fiber technology company we are today,” states Su Shin, pres- ident and general manager of Hawaiian Telcom. “We proudly celebrate 140 years of building connections in Hawai‘i this year. Our products and services have changed over time but the heart of our brand, which is our commitment to Hawai‘i, remains constant. I’m excit- ed about Jamie’s efforts to tell our story in fresh and in- novative ways” ... Leeward Community College’s Mike Esteban and Rock Justice Yamashiro were recently named Toyota Hawai‘i’s Technical Education Pro- gram (T-TEP) scholarship recipients. They each will receive a full scholarship for their remaining college education and part-time employment with Toyota Hawai‘i as technician ap- prentices. “We are proud to support and invest in the education of our future technicians,” states Gene Murata, senior recruiter at Toyota Hawaiʻi. “After co- ordinating the T-TEP schol- arship program for over 25
years, I am continuously impressed by the talent and skill level of the applicants we receive. We hope these scholarships help set them up for success” ... Congrats to another LCC student, Ashley Viluan, who won the Live Your Dream grant award from Soroptomist In- ternational of Honolulu ... The Challenger Core Soccer Camp is coming to O‘ahu this summer and Leeward keiki can participate. Chal- lenger Sports has teamed up with American Youth Soc- cer organization clubs 113, 118, 269 and 769 to bring soccer camps to the com- munity at a variety of loca- tions on the island on June 5-9 and 12-16, and July 10- 14, 17-21 and 24-28.
