Members of the Honolulu chapters of the Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary clubs teamed up for a food drive in front of the Hawai‘i state Capitol on Sept. 23, which was Hunger Action Day. According to Lions Club officials, they collected enough food and monetary donations for the Hawai‘i Foodbank to cover nearly 2,000 meals. In addition to food and funds, the drive also raised awareness about hunger in the islands. The Lions Club plans to hold another food drive in front of the Capitol on Nov. 19. LAWRENCE TABUDLO PHOTO
