wo prominent wom- en in Hawai‘i’s med- ical scene were re-
cently recognized last month for their contributions to public health and University of Hawai‘i’s John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Dr. Libby Char, director of the state Department of Health, and Lila Johnson, a long-time supporter JAB- SOM, were awarded the 2022 Judge James S. Burns Award.

was also an integral part in transitioning JABSOM to its current campus in Ka- ka‘ako.
University of Hawai‘i’s John A. Burns School of Medicine welcomed its latest class of aspiring physicians on July 22 at its first full, in-person White Coat Ceremony since 2019. The 77 doctors in training donned the brand-new coats, symbolizing their commitment to the field of medicine. According to UH, 85% of them are from Hawai‘i.
