Create Fast, Festive Dishes This Season
East Oʻahu residents have the opportunity to learn fes- tive healthy recipes with AARP Hawaiʻi and Wind- ward Community College chef Dan Swift. Learn how to minimize time in the kitchen and use new cook- ing techniques with AARP Hawaiʻi’s popular cooking webinars.
On Nov. 4, attendees will learn how to cook a healthy lasagna, and on Nov. 11, how to create a casserole. The cooking webinars continue on Nov. 18 with a lesson on how to prepare turkey for two, and on Dec. 2, learn how to create one-pot Japanese dishes. Tune in on Dec. 9 for a tutorial on holiday pies, then how to cook a tasty pot roast on Dec. 16.
Its tutorials, which take place at 5 p.m. Thursdays and begin Nov. 4 through Dec. 16, serve as the perfect way to prepare for upcom- ing holiday get-togethers. Guests will learn how to make ‘ono meals including pot roast, turkey, casserole, lasagna, pies and Japanese dishes.
Participants will receive an email ahead of time with the dish’s recipe so guests can cook along with Swift. To re- ceive a Zoom link, register at aarp.cvent.com/hicooking or visit aarp.org/hi. It will also be available as a live simulcast on AARP Hawaiʻi’s Face- book page.
