A native of Swe- den, Ivarsson’s parents are both retired educators. He moved to Hawai‘i in 2018 and has since dedicated himself to volunteering at an afterschool program. His love for the state and the culture motivated him to focus on Hawaiian histo- ry and culture when he be- comes an elementary school teacher. Since English is his
