The cityDepartmentofParksand Recreation announced that last month nine young street trees along Anania Drive in Mililani were destroyed by one or many vandals. The destruction impacted silver trumpet, pak lan and tulipwood trees along the residential road between Meheula Parkway and Lan- ikūhana Avenue. According to city officials, these trees were part of a planting ef- fort — which began in May 2018 and continued in May 2020 — with 34 trees ulti- mately being planted. Violations can be punished by a fine not exceeding $500 and/or imprisonment of up to six months.
