s a Rotarian for more than four de- cades, Rotary Club of Mililani Sun- rise president Paul Nakachi explains
that he and fellow members have a passion for and take pride in volunteering and giving back to their communities.
The club recently donated and installed a Peace Pole for the Mililani community to hon- or Mililani Sunrise’s 25th anniversary. It col- laborates with Mililani High School on many projects, and according to Nakachi, the school’s principal Fred Murphy agreed to have the Peace Pole “planted” on school grounds for the com- munity to enjoy and rally around.
Nakachi explains that another big recent- ly completed RCMS project was the I Love Books Fair, which included more than 300 stu- dents and their parents at Kīpapa Elementary School in Mililani.
“We partnered with Literacy Hawai‘i, Read to Me International, Mililani (public) library, Building Blocks Hawai‘i and Kīpapa Elemen- tary. It was such a success that talks for a second annual book fair are being discussed,” Nakachi
