the 4x400-meter relay. That time was 7 seconds faster than any high school girls time this year in Hawai‘i for the same event. Individually, Malia, Ciara and Deiona all ran top times that fall into the top 10 in the state in the 100-me- ter, 200-meter and 400-me- ter events. Brooke received compliments and kudos at the national meet regarding her performance compared to oth- er athletes that trained year- round for competing — and here’s Brooke that picks up the sport after volleyball, giv- ing her competitors the busi- ness,” coach Harvey shares.

Two girls from Maryknoll School also participated, including Mililani resident Brooke Kimura in the class of 2023. Kimura took part in the heptathlon, which is the measure of top-level athlet- icism, consisting of seven events in two days.
