Bank of Hawaiʻi marked the opening of its new Mililani branch with a traditional Ha- waiian blessing March 22. It is open six days a week and offers a variety of banking services in Town Center of Mililani, 95-1249 Meheu- la Pkwy. Ste. F-3. (BOH closed its location in Mililani Shopping Center on March 19.) The new 4,162-square- foot Mililani branch was built with the same systems in place across the bank’s net- work to keep employees and customers safe throughout the pandemic and beyond, including enhanced air qual- ity systems with upgraded air filters. Additional safety precautions to help customers physically distance are also
in place, such as tempera- ture scanners, sneeze guards and signs. The branch has a special hour for kūpuna, at-risk individuals and their caregivers on Mondays-Fri- days from 8 to 9 a.m. Mon- days-Fridays and 9-10 a.m. Saturdays. General banking hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon- days-Fridays, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays ... The state Department of Human Ser- vices in coordination with Hawaiʻi Emergency Manage- ment Agency is announcing a deadline extension to submit SNAP Replacement Benefits applications for households living in Haleʻiwa. Due to re- cent severe weather, flooding and landslides, the deadline to submit applications has been extended until today, April 7.
The benefit is a replacement of food purchased with SNAP benefits that was destroyed in a household misfortune. Responding quick- ly to severe flooding due to heavy rains in Haleʻiwa, on March 13 a multitude of com- munity volunteers quickly mobilized to help affected residents and businesses. Members of Rotary Club of Wahiawā-Waialua and Wa- hiawā Lions Club donated snacks with money provided by area residents including
Ernie Martin, Henry Lee, Kate Butt, Geoff Horvath and state Rep. Amy Perruso. Scott Harada of Marian’s Catering in Wahiawā donated 200 bowls of chicken curry and rice. Keoni and Nahoku Ahlo of Teapresso Bar Wa- hiawā provided 200 brown
