Parks Help Lei Makers Meet May 1 Deadline

Community parks will help Windward residents prepare for the city’s annual Lei Day celebration May 1 at Kapiolani Park.

A variety of classes are scheduled in Kaneohe and Kailua now through April 30; ages, fees and skill levels vary.

If students choose to enter the Lei Day competition, their leis are due between 7:30 and 9 a.m. May 1 at Kapiolani Park.

The next day, the leis will be taken to Mauna Ala, the royal mausoleum in Nuuanu.
