Pali Momi Earns NAPBC Accreditation
National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer (NAPBC) has granted the Women’s Center at Pali Momi Medical Center in Aiea a three-year accreditation.
The certification is awarded only to centers that have “voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance,” according to the organization.
Receiving this NAPBC accreditation ensures patients have access to comprehensive care, a multidisciplinary team approach to assess treatment options, information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options, and quality breast care close to home.
Pali Momi’s Women’s Center offers digital 2-D and 3-D mammography (tomosynthesis breast imaging), computer-aided detection (an advanced analysis of images to help detect the presence of abnormalities), non-surgical breast biopsy (stereotactic and ultrasound), breast ultrasound and automated whole breast ultrasound (AWBUS), which is the latest technology available to detect breast cancer in women who have been diagnosed with dense breast tissue.
“We’re extremely proud of the quality of care and service provided to our patients at Pali Momi Women’s Center,” stated Pali Momi CEO Jen
H. Chahanovich. “This designation validates the efforts of our Women’s Center physicians, nurses and staff to maintain the highest standards of care, and our commitment to ensure access to quality breast-health services.”
In order to obtain accreditation, Pali Momi displayed proficiency in center leadership, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement.
