New Principal For Waiahole Elementary
Waiahole Elementary School welcomed a new principal Dec. 1, a woman who brings a decade of experience in education to the 103-student school in a rural Windward valley.
Alexandra Obra has served as a vice principal for more than five years and has been working in Oahu public schools for 10 years. She previously was vice principal at Waialua and Mililani Ike elementary schools, and most recently worked at Keoneula Elementary in Ewa Beach. Obra also served as health counselor, and student services and curriculum coordinator at Mililani High School.
She replaces temporary principal Louise Wolcott, who led the school for 10 months.
In her new role, Obra intends to “put Waiahole on the map.”
“I’m honored and privileged to have been selected,” she stated. “I’m excited and look forward to working with everyone.”
Obra, who has a doctoral degree in educational leadership, seeks to build relationships with students, teachers, staff and family members, as well as expand community partnerships.
