National Nod To Shrimp Truck

Score another victory for Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck. The Kahuku landmark was named by BuzzFeed as the nation’s 14th most popular food truck of 2013, generating a rating of 8.8 out of a possible 10.

BuzzFeed recommends the shrimp scampi, spicy shrimp and garlic shrimp, which it may have misidentified as either the lemon butter shrimp or the jumbo garlic hot dog.

It wasn’t the first award for the shrimp shack. Giovanni’s was the 2013 Hale Aina Award winner for best food truck and is consistently mentioned on travel and dining sites.

Giovanni’s opened in 1993 in a converted bread truck that toured the North Shore, stopping wherever hungry diners gathered.

In 1996, it moved to its current Kahuku location.
