Mermaid Swims Into Ko Olina
There are only two chances left to see a mermaid at Ko Olina Resort in the Naia Lagoon 3.
“Call of the Mermaids” features Mermaid Kariel, who recently made the lagoon her home. She welcomes anyone for a sunset greeting, aqua performance and photo opportunities. The event continues from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday and April 6.
Mermaid Kariel is a local performance artist who handcrafts her own mermaid tails that can be used in the water. She hosts shows at hotels around the island to promote self-esteem, reaching out to children and teaching ocean conservation.
The Ko Olina show is an interactive one designed with families in mind. There is limited free public parking at the beach that is open until 7 p.m. For more information, call 675-2895.
