Maui Jim’s You Move Me Collection
Maui Jim has released its first ultra-luxury sunglasses collection titled You Move Me, featuring colorful interpretations of Hawaiian flora and fauna by internationally renowned Hawaiian artist Charlie Lyon.
Lyon’s work was transferred on the finest Italian silk and handcrafted into numbered, limited-edition pairs of sunglasses available at a limited number of Maui Jim retailers worldwide.
The sunglasses also are made with Maui Jim’s PolarizedPlus2 lenses, which cut UV rays and glare while enhancing color to produce clear, brilliant vision.
The collection, which arrived in stores this month, is anchored by two Crystal/Silk frame shapes: a rounded, oversized frame (style No. 280); and a squared-off, slightly retro frame (style No. 277). However, no single Crystal/Silk frame is alike because the silk that Lyon’s painting was reproduced on was individually cut and embedded in the crystal acetate, resulting in one-of-a-kind art pieces. Only 270 pairs of the Crystal/Silk style No. 280, and 290 pairs of the Crystal/Silk style No. 277, were made. Suggested retail price is $499. Maui Jim also produced printed acetate frames of the Lyon painting in three distinctive color variations: silk print with white trim and teal interior with neutral gray lenses, navy with white trim and silk print interior with Maui Rose lenses, and black with white trim and silk print interior with neutral gray lenses. Only 500 pairs of each printed acetate style were manufactured. Each pair is stamped with a signature, numbered and available at a limited number of eyewear retailers worldwide at a suggested retail price of $399.
