Mahalo Show For Kualoa And Public

Kumu hula Mary Kupau and her halau, Kuhai Halau ‘O Kahealani Pa ‘Olapa Kahiko, will stage their 16th annual Ho‘okupu Aloha from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday at Kualoa Ranch.

The free showcase of hula celebrates the theme of “E Ku‘ulei Makamae” (precious wreath). The program of music, food and entertainment is what Kupau said she offers up as a gift of love and gratitude to the ranch and to the public for her halau’s long-standing residency at Kualoa, and the hula lessons they’ve been able to teach and share in that ideal setting.

The May 2 event also features entertainment by Jerry Santos, Kamakakehau Fernandez, Ho‘omaika‘i Hula Studio, Na Wahine ‘O La‘akea, Na ‘Opio O Ko‘olau and Halau Kiuwailehua.

Attendees can browse the arts and crafts booths, and purchase food and drinks during the festivities.
