Lots More At Kona Brewing Co.

Patrons of Kona Brewing Co. at Koko Marina Center can now expect more food, more space and, most importantly, more beer, after its recent $1 million renovation.

In addition to installing new flooring, paint, fans and lights, the pub improved its bar — now equipped with 48 beer taps — plus added menu items and expanded its kitchen and retail area.

“The renovation of the Koko Marina pub was inspired by a Hawaiian canoe house, which, much like Kona Brewing Co., represents a gathering place within the community that is rich with the spirit of aloha and teamwork,” stated Davie Young, owner of KDDY Architecture Studios.

Construction stretched over three weeks, and is just phase one of two for the pub, which hopes to next reconstruct its front porch area with an ohia and wood trellis for outdoor seating.
