Libraries Offer AARP Tax Help For Elderly

AARP Tax Counseling for the Elderly offers assistance now through April 15 at selected public libraries, including the Aina Haina and Hawaii Kai branches.

Hours at Aina Haina Library are 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, except April 3. Volunteers will be at Hawaii Kai Library from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, but the building will be closed April 4.

Trained volunteers from American Association of Retired Persons will help residents of low to moderate income file their federal and state income tax returns. Free electronic filing also is available. Bring valid picture ID, Social Security card and copies of 2013 returns.
