Leilehua Students’ Art On Exhibit At Library
Wahiawa Library will host a reception from 6 to 8 tonight (Aug. 28) honoring the student artists whose works are on view in the library’s summer art exhibition.
The show, which opened in June and closes this week, highlights the award-winning talent of eight Leilehua High School students, who will attend the event along with their teacher Larry Taguba.
Most of the works are pencil renderings created over the last school year, said Matthew Brown, the new youth services librarian. “Many of them have been recognized at either the state or federal level,” Brown noted.
The exhibit catalog lists honorees Bennet Cariaga, Lino Pregoner (two drawings), Ryne Cabias (two), Michelle Kaye Barit (two), Rhea Erice (two), Nicole Gottman, John Cabias and Fernan Abarcar.
The public is invited to come and meet the artists. For more information, call 622-6345.
