Lehua Matsuoka Wins A $150 Spree At Kmart

On Wednesday, Lehua Matsuoka wanted to pick up some things for her new grandson, so she took a trip to Kmart on Nimitz Highway. As she made her purchase at 12:45 p.m., MidWeek‘s representative approached Lehua with a simple question. She answered correctly and instantly won a $150 Kmart spree.

“I like shopping at Kmart because I like how the store is sectioned, and they have a variety of items — it’s like a one-stop shop,” said this week’s Mystery Shopper, a kumu hula. “Also, the clerks are nice and friendly.”

A Papakolea resident, Lehua was born on Hawaii island and raised on Lanai. She is a graduate of Lanai High School, and has four children and seven grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys working in her garden and traveling. She also likes to read MidWeek.

“I love the cover stories, reading about local people, who they are and their contributions to their community,” she said. “I also like looking at all the pictures from different events.”
