LCC Offers Tech Workshops For All
Geeks (current and aspirational) will take over Leeward Community College Feb. 28 for the college’s sixth annual Geek Day.
The public is invited to attend free workshops dealing with technology and all things digital.
A number of sessions are designed for the public, but several seminars will be geared toward educators.
Sessions include how to get more views on YouTube, shoot better digital photos (bring your own camera), shoot and edit video with a GoPro, build your own app, buy and use a drone, build a website with WordPress, draw with Adobe Illustrator, understand computer security and more. Be sure to bring your own devices.
Workshops address Mac and Windows platforms. In addition, the event also features a Digital Cafe, a place to discover new apps, receive one-on-one help with computer problems, and experience 3-D printing and hands-on robotics demonstrations.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the first sessions start promptly at 10. Door prizes include iTunes, GooglePlay and Amazon gift cards.
