‘Laughs For Lions’ Set For Aug. 23 At Mamiya
There’s funny business in store at Kamehameha Lions Club Foundation’s “Laughs for Lions,” set for Aug. 23 at Mamiya Theatre.
Pearl City-born Paul Ogata headlines the ninth annual comedy show, with Dat Phan as emcee and comedians Geechy Guy, Michael C. Hall and Maria Herman. There also will be a silent
auction prior to the show, door prizes, free food and a celebrity memorabilia drawing for items from stars as diverse as William Shatner and Tiger Woods.
The program runs from 6 to 10 p.m. with showtime at 7:35. Tickets cost $25, $45, $65 or $100, and must be purchased in advance by calling 528-1073 or visiting laughsforlions.com. No tickets will be sold on the night of the event.
Proceeds go to Leo Club scholarship funds at Sacred Hearts Academy, La Pietra School for Girls, Kalani High School and Saint Louis School, as well as to the Kamehameha Lions’ other service projects. The club has raised more than $100,000 so far through Laughs for Lions.
